The Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy Chairperson Mr. V.A Chikanda paid a courtesy on the Swedish Ambassador to Zimbabwe Her Excellency, Sofia Calltorp at the Swedish Embassy Chancery on 29 May 2017. The visit was to familiarise the Ambassador with the functions and thrust of the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy in the provision of Diplomacy, Protocol, Professional Grooming and Soft Skills Training to African countries to improve efficiency and professionalism in service delivery.  The meeting also sought to create a platform for cooperation and forge synergies for exchange of ideas and links with Swedish institutions involved in Training in Diplomacy, International Relations, International Law, Public Policy, Leadership, Negotiation and Ethics and Diversity.

Ambassador Sofia Calltorp is former Head of Humanitarian Section at the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She asserted that Humanitarian issues are very close to her heart. She also said that she would be very happy to come to the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy and present a public lecture on Humanitarian issues, (Humanitarian Law, Humanitarian Aid) and other related topical issues.
